Valencia County is a county in the U.S. state of New Mexico. As of the 2010 census, the population was 76,569. The county seat is Los Lunas and the county itself is included in the Albuquerque, NM Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fun Fact: Valencia County has the longest record for predicting presidential election wins since 1952.
As of the 2010 U.S. Census, there were 76,569 people, 27,500 households, and 19,967 families residing in the county. The population density was 71.8 inhabitants per square mile (27.7/km2). There were 30,085 housing units at an average density of 28.2 per square mile (10.9/km2). Of the 27,500 households, 37.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.8% were married couples living together, 13.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 27.4% were non-families, and 22.1% of all households were made up of individuals. The average household size was 2.73 and the average family size was 3.18. The median age was 37.7 years.
The median income for a household in the county was $42,044 and the median income for a family was $48,767. Males had a median income of $41,511 versus $32,584 for females. The per capita income for the county was $19,955. About 15.7% of families and 19.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 29.7% of those under age 18 and 12.5% of those age 65 or over.

The nearest town to most of the properties we offer is Belen, a historic community in the Rio Grande Valley. Belen was founded in 1740 as Nuestra Senora de Belen, interwoven with Spanish, German and other cultures over almost three centuries. It is a city that grew out of the wild west, shaped by the railroad and nestled next to the life-giving Rio Grande (one of the most famous Rivers in the United States).
Belen's most important attraction is the historic downtown, where you can see the only Harvey House museum in the State of New Mexico. Many other buildings in downtown still show what a historic railroading community would have looked like in the early 1900s -- the Belen Hotel, Central Hotel, old city hall, Onate Theater and Sugar Bowl Lanes were all built during the bustling early years of the railroad. Some of these buildings are filled with businesses catering to visitors, like Pete's Cafe.
Some of the best traditional New Mexican food in the Albuquerque area comes from Belen, where year-round you can walk into any restaurant and get your fix of green and red chile, sopapillas and even Spanish barbeque, like chicarrones. Belen also has a number of locally owned and operated clothing stores, art shops, antique stores and other retail businesses.
